More About 2D MMO Games

There are some different types of 2D MMO Games. Most of them have a top-down or isometric perspective. In many cases, the graphics in this type of games are stylized very much and pixelated or represented with realistic sprites. Realistically crafted locations and characters are most often found in the Isometrics MMO; games with Top-Down perspective are most often made in pixel style.

2D MMO games are much easier to develop than 3D games. The files with 2D graphics and animations weigh less, displaying the visual part spends less RAM, so these games smoothly run on weak computers. So that 2D MMO accessible to the maximum number of users. Another plus of 2D games is that even on older computers 2D graphics look just as good as on modern ones.

2D MMO games can also have the 3D graphics in it. The characters still can move only in two dimensions, but the models of the heroes, backgrounds and animations are entirely 3D. Such a genre became popular in the middle of the 2000s. When 3D graphics became available to most users, publishers decided to experiment - and so a whole type of new games appeared.

Nowhere except 2D games, you can see so much unusual and insane visual solutions that fit perfectly into the genre and look great in the game's universe.
