MMORPG games are one of the most popular genres in the world, due to a combination of social elements, fun gameplay, and vibrant open worlds.
What makes a casual MMORPG fun?
MMORPG games which are more casual benefit from all of the same features which you can expect from any role-playing games – awesome character creation and development, fun quests and social opportunities, and of course good gameplay.
Casual MMORPG (or at least with casual elements) however, offer players with less time the ability to still have fun. The most popular casual features are good Player vs Player gameplay, short PvE / co-op quests, and fun secondary minigames, for example the infamous jumping puzzles of Guild Wars 2. Many casual MMO games also benefit from free-to-play availability – the game doesn’t necessarily have to be completely free, but they will offer the ability to play it or at least try it for free, making it readily available for casual players who want to try the genre.
