Astonia: The Return of Yendor Gameplay

Astonia: The Return of Yendor is a classic fantasy MMORPG, inspired by old school 2D graphics games. The game provides many complicated storylines and quests that tell about the profound lore of the MMORPG. The game takes place in a traditional fantasy setting with steampunk elements.

Astonia: The Return of Yendor supports a selective multiplayer that can be chosen at the start of the game. Players can experience the gameplay either with a group of friends as the party members or get involved in the story in a traditional MMO way — with many other players online, without a party. The party can be created later in the game for specific purposes.

This retro MMORPG provides a classic player-to-NPC and player-to-player interaction. Talking to players can be done in chat by default, but communication with their trading functions or else is only done by commands, and not by standard clicking. Interacting with the NPCs is also can be done in chat by typing simple commands. The game will recognize the interaction by keywords.

Quests and storylines of Astonia: The Return of Yendor do not support markers and minimaps, the player will have to decide which NPC’s hints lead them to the target. They will also have to interact with other NPCs and players to determine which direction they are supposed to go to, which portal to use, which monster should they kill for a specific loot, etc.

Astonia: The Return of Yendor requires a precise gear and weapons balancing against all types of enemies, as it provides a detailed statistic about every gear part the player has. Particular armour can protect from the poisonous foes, and other ones are good for deflecting magical damage. Players are free to customize and enchant the gear however they want.

This game emphasizes a close player-to-player interaction. Most of the time, the new player will not be able to determine which direction they should choose or, in case of resources, the ones needed could not be gathered at their level and location. They can ask for help from others. Socialization is essential, going through the game in solo would be significantly more difficult, considering the old school style of it.

The PvP system of Astonia: The Return of Yendor supports an unlimited PvP action. Players who participate in PvP get a PK (player killer) status and can become infamous. Being a player with a PK status can affect the gameplay, as it influences the interactions with NPCs. Other players can also decide not to help a PK if they see one, so the choice entirely lies on the player.

The game of Astonia: The Return of Yendor is entirely free-to-play and doesn’t support any means of subscribing or donating. The client can be downloaded from the official site of the game. The MMORPG, considering its retro aesthetics, doesn’t have any sounds, it is completely silent.

Astonia: The Return of Yendor Classes

The MMORPG supports two types of player classes, but it can also be called a classless game. The new players can choose to be a heavy-armoured warrior or a warrior that mixes the sword-wielding with magic powers. There are no pure classes to choose, but players can customize their skills as they wish. By moving forward in the game and completing quests, players collect new artefacts and enchantments that provide them with new opportunities in skill-building and character customization.
