Crowfall Review

Crowfall is an online MMORPG client game from developers who took part in creating Star Wars The Galaxy and Shadowbane.
- Unusual world-building system
- More than a dozen classes
- Non-target combat system
- Total freedom of action
Money for the development of Crowfall was collected through Kickstarter. Initially, the authors managed to get $ 1.7 million, and by mid-2019, the amount had risen to 25 million. The creators have promised five ever-changing worlds, a dozen specializations and complete freedom of action. People are allowed to capture other people's castles, become farmers, hunt monsters, or seize the royal throne, a symbol of absolute power. The ruler creates laws for the planets and also regulates the frequency of clan fights.
Each player receives an eternal kingdom and is offered to travel between the five emerging and dying planets. The closer they are to the Fel, the dark universal energy, the faster they disappear from the universe to be reborn. The life cycle is measured by one, three, six months, and a year. Each world is represented by a set of unique activities, which are called campaigns. The player appears in the spring world rich in mineral deposits and magical trophies. Time moves forward, and spring gives way to summer, autumn and winter, the deposits of raw materials are slowly reduced. At the end of the in-game year, the world dies, the person takes the accumulated rewards and returns home.
He uses the stored values in Crowfall. He builds roads, industrial and military buildings, manors, lands for competitions and championships. He hires service personnel, sets up markets, and adds castle territories. Found relics can be hidden in dungeons and get unique properties: accelerated gold mining, increased damage, a greater variety of goods in the store.
In the early stages of Crowfall, there are 13 fairy-tale races: humans, half-elves, nectaries, sylphs, forest, and high elves, giants, taverns (like dwarfs), kerns, minotaurs, centaurs, and keiwi (anthropomorphic guinea pigs). There are 11 classes: knights and inquisitor, templar and ranger, assassin and druid, kriomant and warrior, gladiator, priest, and duelist. Each profession is assigned to no more than 3-4 races.
Character development is represented by a constellation of skills. In a peaceful kingdom, a player does not have unique abilities. In the transition to a new world, he selects any of the races and one specialization. The experience is accumulated passively, regardless of whether the player was online or not. A skill point for a passive or active ability is given for leveling up. When the planet dies, the soul of a hero returns to his kingdom, the knowledge gained does not disappear.
PvP-event takes place in a separate space, disintegrating into parts within a month after it appeared. These are guild battles in which associations build castles and try to conquer the surrounding areas. Those who managed to capture the largest space by the end of the period, receive resources for the development of their personal kingdom.
Crowfall is the concentration of breakthrough ideas in a stagnant genre. Giant sandbox, acting according to the rules set by players, not the scenarios pre-worked by the authors. If you have become a fan of survival simulators, but want to return to the multiplayer RPG - the time has come.
