Gameplay

In CryoFall, players find themselves stranded on a distant planet after a spaceship crash, where they must navigate through realistic and diverse biomes such as forests, swamps, deserts, and tundras. Unlike mere decorations, these biomes are unique and encourage players to explore, gather, craft, and travel.

The game emphasizes an intricate story, unfolding the history of the world through mysterious radioactive ruins filled with valuable loot, dangers, and technology. An engaging economic component exists within the game, allowing players to mint coins and actively participate in the server’s economic life, leading to cooperative city building and bustling player interactions.

Character development is quite nuanced in CryoFall. Divided into skills and technology, players grow abilities through actual usage. For example, using sprinting ability improves the “athletics” skill. Similarly, different types of resource extraction and combat improve their respective skills. Technology advances through four levels, ranging from primitive tools to high-tech weapons and futuristic science.

Learning technology requires knowledge points, earned through gameplay and completing mini-quests. These points are essential for progression but can be lost if a player dies, although already learned skills and techniques remain intact.

Players must pay attention to four essential scales: Health, Stamina, Hunger, and Thirst. Finding food, growing and collecting plants, and gathering rainwater become engaging tasks to sustain life. Developing the base with various tools becomes a central aspect of survival and progression.

Monsters in CryoFall are diverse and become increasingly complex, from standard snakes and wolves to mutated giant scorpions causing psi-damage. Player-versus-player interactions add another level of unpredictability and danger, as other players may raid and kill your character.
