Darksiders Description

Darksiders is a slasher game with adventure and Action / RPG elements. The gameplay takes place from a third person. The project was developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ.
The plot will give the player the feeling of being one of the Apocalypse horsemen when the apocalypse's prophecy happens in the game universe. Darksiders will allow you to take part in the never-ending war between Angels and Demons.

To keep the balance between Heaven and Hell, the Charred Council calls on the Brotherhood of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse to intervene and force a truce between the two kingdoms after countless centuries of war.

Threatened by cruel and swift retribution from the Council Riders, both sides' armies had to conclude a truce, sealed with seven seals. Simultaneously, in the heart of chaos, the world of people called the Third Kingdom appeared. The council predicted that over time these creatures would also affect balance. And when the Seventh Seal is broken, the last battle will begin, in which people will take part, and the outcome of this battle will determine the fate of all three kingdoms.

The gameplay starts at the beginning of the final battle between angels and demons' armies that fall to Earth.

Darksiders Gameplay

Darksiders' gameplay is constant participation in battles, solving many different puzzles during the gameplay, and exploring the world.

Combat system

Darksiders has an excellent and well-developed combat system for its time. Each battle looks dynamic and spectacular, thanks to the implemented system of combo attacks and special techniques. Another feature is the ability to take Chaotic Form for a short period — it's a form of a powerful fire demon with a giant sword.

In addition to this, the game also has a dismemberment and finishing system.

In addition to attacks, the player also has access to dodges and blocking attacks. There is also a mechanic for using environmental objects in battle. So, the player can pick up a chair, hit the opponent with it, or throw a heavy object. During the passage of the war, he will receive a lot of his lost weapons, which will further diversify the attacks.

Skills in Darksiders

Just like regular attacks, various skills are used during combat in Darksiders. They greatly help in battles with strong opponents and quickly deal with large groups of enemies.

So, the player can summon giant spears from the ground, causing damage to the area, or temporarily increase their defence.

The souls will be required to obtain and improve abilities, which the player will receive when killing enemies.

Opponents in Darksiders

There are several areas in Darksiders' world, in each of which the player will meet with certain types of opponents. The game has a large number of different enemies, to defeat each of which will need an individual tactic.

There are also boss fights, in which the player will have to spend a lot of time and work out a strategy to win.

Another of the main features of the Darksiders series is the puzzles woven into the gameplay. They are categorized as required and optional. The former must be solved to advance through the story, while the latter, usually of increased difficulty, allow you to get valuable rewards.
