Devil May Cry 2 Description

Devil May Cry 2 is a game that combines elements of action-adventure and hack-and-slash. This project is an indirect sequel to the first part. The game has retained the essential elements of its predecessor but also acquired some innovations. Capcom studio was responsible for development and publishing. Devil May Cry 2 was released in January 2003 exclusively for Playstation 2. Later, in 2018, it was included in the Devil May Cry: HD Collection trilogy and became available for play on PC.

This time the game takes place in our time on the fictional island of Dumari, which is inhabited by the Vie de Marli clan. The plot continues the story of a demon hunter named Dante, who, this time, will have to join forces with the daughter of the guardian of the island Mathieu - Lucia. Together, they will fight against a businessman named Arius, who plans to awaken the powerful demon Argosax to gain incredible power from him. Your task, as a player, will be to prevent Arius from achieving his goal.

Gameplay of Devil May Cry 2

As in the previous part, the gameplay of Devil May Cry 2 is based on moving between prominent locations that play the role of chapters. In the course of research and passage, the player will have to destroy opponents' hordes at the levels while simultaneously solving the assigned tasks and puzzles.
Speaking of puzzles, things are not so obvious in Devil May Cry 2. To solve some of the riddles, the player will need to explore the entire location, search for key items and think about what needs to be done to further advance along the level. The complexity of the puzzles can force the user to search for an hour over their solution.

The game is famous for its dynamics and excellent hack-and-slash mechanics. When moving behind the main characters, you can perform various acrobatic stunts to move faster, as well as climb into hard-to-reach places. The same acrobatic elements will allow the heroes to dodge enemy attacks during the battle. In the fights with monsters themselves, the player will have access to a wide selection of different techniques that can be freely combined in all sorts of combinations.

Devil May Cry 2
The player can use both melee weapons and firearms in combat

As you progress through Devil May Cry 2, the main character will have access to new types of weapons, as well as improvements to old ones. Besides, it is also possible to learn new techniques.

The famous ability "Devil Trigger" has undergone some changes in this part. Now the player activates it through a special amulet that accumulates a charge during battles. Also, three different forms of DT became available for Dante, the use of each of which will be situational.

In Devil May Cry 2, the player will have to fight with many dangerous creatures, different in strength and behaviour. Fast, tenacious, ground or air - one way or another, the player will have to look for his approach to each opponent. A separate word is deserved by the fact that the dynamics of fights adds a beautiful soundtrack that starts to sound right at the beginning of the battle.

Devil May Cry 2
The game also features boss fights, in order to defeat which you will need to come up with a unique strategy.

One of the main innovations of the part was the alternating gameplay between the two main characters. Now, in addition to Dante, the user will play as Lucia. She has her weapons and a set of techniques and abilities.

Devil May Cry 2 is an excellent sequel to the series that will suit all DMC fans, dynamic slashers, and fans of games such as Darksiders and Bayonetta.
