Fistful of Frags Gameplay
Fistful of Frags is originally a mod to Half-Life 2, which later was updated as a standalone game for its Steam release due to a large number of active players and interactive gameplay. The game features a unique Wild West setting with various additions and features. Players can use a wide range of weaponry to form up to four teams on a single battlefield to acquire as much Glory as possible without allowing the enemies to do the same. You can join Gangsters, Countryside, Bandits and Rangers to represent one of the teams. After that, players spawn at random points of the map with the weapons chosen before the game. A wide range of available upgrades, consumables and tools are also scattered throughout the playable area.
Fistful of Frags features multiple playable game modes, such as the following:
The Shootout is a classic free-for-all that focuses on the elimination of enemies from other teams. And it supports the ranked ladder as well.
The cooperative mode supports player-versus-environment challenges for a group with up to six players.
Grand Elimination is a fast-paced Battle Royale.
Break Bad is similar to Shootout, but it also includes custom rules and objectives.
Team Elimination is a round-based battle without respawning.
Versus is a duel for two players to show off their skills and dominance over other players.
This MMOFPS features challenging shooting mechanics that require you to stand still to perform accurate shots. However, most of the time, it is impossible due to a large number of enemies around the players. That makes shooting aspect genuinely challenging, and it is challenging to learn the game quickly. Different kinds of weapons have different mechanics, and the game features dual derringers, smith carbines, colt navy revolvers, volcanic repeaters, sawed-off shotguns, bows and others. You can also switch a hand to hold your gun at any time, depending on the combat situation. The players can also use melee combat tricks to overcome their opponents, and the game provides additional tools for that as well. Double-handed fisticuffs, knuckle dusters and many others are available to everyone to kills enemies using melee attacks and acquire more Glory points.
Fistful of Frags is a dynamic game that includes various strategic aspects as well. Reloading takes significant time, and players have to find a safe spot to perform it. You can also pick up guns and ammo from slain opponents to save time and keep fighting. Players can also throw empty weapons as a projectile to deal damage to others in specific situations. Killing enemies in unusual ways reward the players with more Glory points, which is the core mechanics of the game. You need to gain the points by shooting the opponents or completing objectives in most uncomfortable ways to become the best in the match.
Fistful of Frags is a unique project that fits both casual and hardcore gamers due to its diverse gameplay and a wide range of available game modes. You have to practice with every gun because all of them have specific difficulties; however, it is relatively quick and straightforward to understand the basics and jump straight into the gameplay. All maps are completed in the Wild West setting, and most of the objects can be interacted with to provide the players with a genuinely immersive experience.
