Genshin Impact Gameplay

Genshin Impact brings its players to a fantasy world called Teyvat, where the seven elements flow and converge. In the past, the Archons granted mortals unique elemental abilities, and with the help of those, they built a beautiful homeland. However, over five hundred years ago, the ancient civilisation collapsed. You play as a traveller who drifted from another world and woke up in these lands, and you are free to explore and make new friends along the way.

It's no secret that Genshin Impact development team was hugely inspired by one of the most successful action-adventure games, Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Just as it's inspiration source, it features an open world, unique visual style, and many other similar mechanics. One of the most sophisticated aspects of the environment was a system of weather and time change, which is still under development.

Another significant feature is Glider, which was also borrowed from Zelda. Exploring the universe of Genshin Impact, you can jump off the high peaks and slowly glide wherever you want. Still, the colossal world of this game also has unreachable spots: at this point, you can't explore vast oceans and waters. However, the developers are considering more detailed interaction with the environment.

The world of Genshin Impact is vast and living; as the developers said, they're planning to add different kinds of animals and NPCs. The cities of GI would be inhabited with cats and dogs, and wild nature would be filled with dozens of beasts. The pet taming feature is still questionable for this project, but the creators are interested in realisation of this system.

The graphical aspect of the game features a cartoonish anime-styled world with high-resolution textures, and Genshin Impact is available on multiple platforms. The particular attention was given to light and shades: they look incredibly realistic, which combines perfectly with the chosen stylistic of the project. The game allows customising video, audio and controller settings for the players to fit their playstyle better and make it comfortable to play on most machines. It also has a camera mode, which allows making the best screenshots.

The game starts when you select either brother or sister as your playable character; your mission is to help your sibling. After this choice, the game presents you with a magical guide. This creature called Paimon will teach you the basics of the gameplay. You can explore particular areas during this stage of the game, including a small town Mondstadt where you can find additional party members to join your adventure.

Genshin Impact allows players to explore the world alone or in a cooperative mode along with up to four friends. However, multiplayer is not accessible immediately, and you need to reach a specific Adventurer Level to be able to access the menu to join online games. Playing together brings certain limitations to what you can do, for example, you cannot complete main storyline quests, and these are only doable when everybody leaves your game. You still can take on monsters, look for treasures and run dungeons. Yet, there will be no guild system, at least by the release date.

The game offers to choose one of many characters from different in-game cities to play, and they all have their background stories and features. You can pick multiple heroes and switch between them during the gameplay in both single-player and cooperative modes. They all have their unique in-game models, various voice actors and character-specific side quests. In some cases, it may affect the dialogues and the replies you can choose, but overall, it does not affect the main storyline that much.

The combat mechanics are based on various elemental abilities and the surroundings of each battle. You may combine different elements to create a devastating power and cause a devastative effect to the enemies around. For example, you may freeze a wet foe and electrocute it after to deal enormous damage, and that is only one of many other options of what you can do. A monster with a torch in its hand may fire up the dry grass nearby, and that would make both monsters and players try to escape the area.

There are hundreds of available items in the world of Teyvat, and players can loot it from enemies, treasure chests and buy it from various sellers in different cities. The equipment pieces have level requirements and grant the characters bonuses to their characteristics, therefore improving their power. There are multiple customisation options for the weapons and items, and some spells may affect them as well.

As the developers said in their interviews, they're working hard on craft system and professions. The world of Genshin is colossal, and devs are planning to spread the materials all over different locations to challenge players in exploration. They also featured the advanced craft professions and mini-games which is used to make gameplay more diverse. Also, there would be an item deconstruction system which allows creating materials out of unwanted equipment.

Genshin Impact offers its players a massive world full of dangers to explore, and there is a wide range of activities available to them. The game fits both casual and hardcore players because there are so many variations to every single encounter, and there is something for everyone. The developers carefully improve the game world, and the community brings new players regularly.
