Gothic 2 Description
Gothic 2 is a continuation of the classic third-person RPG that has received recognition from the gaming community. The game was developed by Piranha Bytes studio under the publishing house JoWooD. The release took place in November 2002.
The plot events of Gothic 2 unfold two weeks after the events of the first part. The island of Khorinis, whose mines have become a hopeless prison for most prisoners, is freed from the self-sustaining barrier. After defeating the Sleeper, the main character spent several days under the temple's ruins and survived thanks to magical armour's power. The necromancer Xardas saved the Hero and took him to his hideout. From a conversation with him, the character learns that the Sleeper, with his dying cry, awakened the armies of darkness from the kingdom of Beliar, led by dragons. They become a new threat that the player will have to prevent.
Gothic 2 Gameplay
The gameplay has not changed since the first part. The player will have to explore the lands of Khorinis, complete various quests, and gradually increase his character's strength. Among the main changes, it is worth noting an improved graphics component and optimization of some game features and mechanics.
Character development system
In Gothic 2, the player has the opportunity to follow three class paths - mage, paladin, or rogue. Depending on the preferred class, the player will use the appropriate type of weapon or spells. The character can develop skills in melee weapons (one-handed, two-handed) or small arms (bow, crossbow).

It is also worth noting that unique game mechanics are implemented for each of the classes in Gothic 2. For example, paladins will have access to either runes of destruction or runes of restoration, and a rogue using a bow will improve the ranged skill tree.
In Gothic II, there is a factional confrontation. Choosing the path of a mage, paladin or rogue, the player has the opportunity to join the appropriate factions - the Order of Paladins, Dragon Hunters and Fire Mages. The choice of the faction significantly affects the passage, depending on this, some quests are opened and closed, the teacher and the NPC's attitude to the player change. The choice also affects the features of improving the parameters of the main character. For example, increasing mana by a mercenary costs more training points than by a mage.
Enemies and inhabitatns of the world of Gothic 2
Travelling through the world of Gothic 2, the player will meet many different creatures, representing a danger of various levels. In addition to the enemies in the first part, the main character will have to engage in battle with previously unseen creatures.
From time to time, the character will engage in battle with bosses that pose a considerable threat, but at the same time guard generous reward
Detalization of the environment and atmosphere
The game world is not so big, but its richness with events is unique. The concentration of the quests, the amount of detail and the elaboration of the world are impressive.
Gothic 2 is a vivid example of the fact that without good graphics, you can create such a cosy and exciting role-playing game, which at the same time manages to withstand the style of dark fantasy.
The game world is not small, not big, but exactly as it should be. More than once, the player will get the impression that every herb, every chest, every bottle of a potion is deliberately placed by hand.
