Gothic 3 Description
Gothic 3 is the final part of the series of RPG games about the Nameless Hero adventures. This part is also the last project related to the Gothic universe, on which the Piranha Bytes studio worked. It was released by JoWooD in October 2006.
The plot of the third part of Gothic continues the events of the two previous parts. After a long struggle between the Kingdom of Myrtana and the orcs, the people are losing the war. These events resulted from a conflict over the mortal world's power of the two gods-brothers Innos and Beliar. Along with several friends, the protagonist sailed to the coast of the Midland mainland of the Kingdom of Myrtana on a sailing ship that previously belonged to the paladins and immediately entered into battle with the orcs who besieged Ardea. The main goal of the adventure will be to confront the gods indicated above.
Gothic 3 Gameplay
As for the gameplay, the player is given complete freedom of action. The open-world has become more spacious and detailed. During the research, it is possible to make new acquaintances, carry out various errands, hunt, and look for treasures. All this is accompanied by a gradual increase in the strength of the hero.
Storyline and side quests
The story continues the events of the two previous parts. This time there are three main factions in the game - Rebels, Orcs and Assassins, as well as three subsidiary ones - Nordmarians, Wanderers and Nomads. The main groupings affect the availability of quests and the story ending, while the side groups affect the presence and development of individual unique skills. The game has three different endings, the output to each of which will depend on the key decisions made during the passage.
Also, the game has a massive number of side quests, by completing which, the player will develop relationships with NPCs, receive valuable rewards, and new skills.
Gothic 3 has undergone a complete rework of the combat system, becoming simplified and more convenient. Now the player does not need to set the direction of the blow, and the attack animations themselves are much faster. The artificial intelligence and combat behaviour of hostile mobs have also been improved.
Among the main innovations, it is worth noting the appearance of shields and helmets and the ability to fight with two one-handed swords simultaneously. Now, most of the combat equipment lends itself to modifications, increases the characteristics of the main character, requires a specific course and level to use a skill, and can enhance them.
Skill and Attribute System
The order of obtaining skills and attributes in Gothic 3 remained the same. If the character's typical characteristics improve in the course of performing specific actions and increasing the level, then the skills are acquired during training from special NPCs.
