Last Oasis Gameplay
Last Oasis is a game that is driven by a unique story where players survive on a dying planet Earth. According to the plot of the game, after the rotation of Earth has stopped, the planet became split into two deadly parts. One is being burnt out by the Sun, and the other is freezing in the shadow. There is only one line between dark and light parts that human nomads are able to inhabit. But they have to migrate with the Sun and fight for resources continually. So humanity came up with building so-called mechanic "Walkers", cities that move across the livable line.
In Last Oasis players are presented with variable possibilities of developing their character. They can choose a path according to their moral standards. Players can be either a pirate who scavenges and robs others in order to survive or a trader who wants a more peaceful way of existence.
Last Oasis possesses a crafting system that is the primary driver of the progress. A player can use crafting to build walking ships, create new gear and weapons, that can also be sold on the market. There is also a feature that allows creating trade routes between oases, so the owner gets awards and bonuses when other people scavenge on them. Quick traders receive more profit from the machinations on the market.
There is an established hierarchy in Last Oasis. An ordinary nomadic trader can reach the heights of a fleet commander, mercenary king or a legendarily wealthy merchant. Each new title brings more possibilities to widen the sphere of influence, new resources, and more people to command over.
The open world of Last Oasis is made of many oases that are presented as variable biomes, where exclusive resources can be gathered. From simple ones like water to more complex as metal. Nomads can make stops and continue moving as they wish.
Combat of this MMORPG is based on melee skill, is direct and happens in real-time. Players are able to choose from a range of available weapons such as maces, axes, swords and quarterstaves. One of the combat features in Last Oasis is equipping the Walkers with firing weapons – guns, slingshots and ballistas. Protection is needed not only from enemy players but also from wildlife, which can be as dangerous or more.
Last Oasis presents a clan warfare mechanic that is useful for those players who plan on evolving the skills and bases faster, but it takes more risks during the world roaming. Clans exist in a condition of constant warfare and victories in battles allows them to receive more significant rewards and control over territories.
One of the most dangerous threats in this MMORPG is giant sandworms that roam around the desert. Once a sandworm, or as it's called in the game, Long One locks its' attention onto a Walker, it becomes a threatening hazard on the way to survival. Players must unite in order to defeat the Long Ones as these creatures contain many helpful resources that can leave victorious nomads rich and prosperous.
Nomads of Last Oasis are equipped with the grappling hooks that make vertical movement faster and more dynamic. Skilled players can outrun the fastest Walkers.
