Legends of Aria Gameplay

Shards Online, or as it is known now, Legends of Aria is stepping away from the modern MMO conventions of classes, levels and quest grinds. Instead, Citadel Studios created a living world where stories emerge naturally as players explore the game and the different worlds laid out before them.

This game is a skill-based sandbox MMORPG; therefore, the player is not stuck with a specific set of skills or have to follow a particular story-line to progress. The initial choices you make do not limit the evolution of your character or its powers. However, there are limits on the maximum quantity of stats, abilities and skills, and some weapons, sorceries and tools might have specific requirements.

Celador is the world where the game takes place, and it is home of all the created characters. Celador contains eight different regions: Eastern Frontier, Frozen Tundra, Black Forest, Southern Hills, Barren Lands, Southern Rim, Upper Plains and Outlands. Players can explore the world on foot, riding a horse, using the hearthstone or entering portals made by other characters.

Upon the character creation process, players get a specific number of skill points they can allocate between four different abilities. You can choose any of four starter templates; however, the game allows you to replace skills and pick something else instead. The main thing influenced by this choice is the starter weapon. Archer will start with a bow, and a warrior will start with a two-handed weapon.

The game relies on a proficiency-based system, so players must perform actions to gain skill points, which are capped at six hundred for each character, and they can have any combination of abilities in use. Legends of Aria features over 30 unique skills available to everyone.

Legends of Aria allows players to build their own houses at the place of their choosing. You will need a housing blueprint, which everyone can buy in a town or an architect shop, and a housing plot, which must be unobstructed and big enough for the house. Upon using a blueprint, the house foundation will spawn, and players will have to supply materials to complete the building. You have complete control over the items, furniture and crafting tools placed in the house. You can have as many homes as you want; however, everyone is only allowed one housing plot per account.

Each character has a Karma score, which you can check in the character’s stats menu. The purpose of this is to determine how unlawful the person is. There are three states of Karma: Innocent, Chaotic and Outcast. Innocent status belongs to players who did not commit any illegal actions, and Chaotic represents characters that did some hostile activities towards other players. Outcasts are the ones who can’t enter most of the towns in the game and guards will attack them on sight.

The developers legitimately allow players to run and moderate their servers and worlds. You can customize every aspect of the game, such as items or abilities, and you can even create new locations, dungeons and enemies. Everyone can add utterly custom worlds, which other players can access through Cluster system, which Citadel Studios purposely implemented to make it easier to do that and to make the customization of the game even more in-depth.

Legends of Aria allows different kinds of gamers to experience the same world together. There are opportunities for both hardcore and casual players, and there is always something new to do due to the continually growing community, and the continuous addition of new servers and worlds, which anyone can upload.
