Legends of Runeterra gameplay
Legends of Runeterra is a game where you play against your opponent one on one. Each player starts the match with four randomly selected cards, randomly selected from a deck composed by players.
As the number of rounds increases, the number of mana gems each player receives increases to a maximum of 10. At the end of each round, all unused mana becomes a spell. This mana can only be used for casting spell cards.
The basic mechanics of Legends of Runeterra are the same as everywhere else: the match involves two players, each with a base (nexus), a health scale and a deck of cards. In each round, one participant becomes the attacker, and the other defends, after which they change places and get an extra mana point - up to ten. The loser is the one whose nexus will be destroyed earlier. Damage to the Nexus is dealt if the attacking creatures are not blocked.
Players must spend mana gems to play cards. There are three types of them: champions, followers and spells. The Champions are the strongest ones in the game, and everyone has a criterion that, if fulfilled, will raise the card level to a more powerful one. Followers are regular ones; spells cause effects.
One of the essential features of Legends of Runeterra is the promotion of mana. In addition to the main mana, there are three reserve cells, and unused units of mana, it automatically switches to the adjacent scale. You can only spend the accumulated bonus on spells, but this changes gameplay strategies dramatically.
Once the cards have been played, they can be used again to attack or defend. During an attack, if there are no opposing card blocks, the card will hit an enemy player's nexus, causing damage equal to its power parameter. Each card also has a protective status. If the received damage rate is higher or similar to the card protection, then it's destroyed. The goal of the game is to bring your opponent to zero health points.
