Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor is a fantasy Action / RPG project set in the Lord of the Rings universe. The game was developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Games. The release took place in September 2014.
Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor will open the players a new chapter from the history of Middle-earth and tell the fate of the game's main character — Talion, whose family was killed. Then he was sacrificed by Sauron's minions. Their goal was to summon the spirit of Celebrimbor, the creator of the Rings of Power, from the world of ghosts. After these tragic events, thanks to the elf's spirit, Talion was resurrected, received special abilities and now goes to Mordor to take revenge and finally reunite with his family. From this moment, the player's adventure across the lands of Middle-earth begins.

In the gameplay, the player will have to go through many dynamic battles with the armies of the Uruks, completing various side missions and exploring the surroundings of Middle-earth. The developers presented several unique game mechanics and high-quality implementation of the dark atmosphere and dark fantasy style.
The combat system is made in the freeflow style. This mechanic was also seen in the Batman: Arkham series. It features spectacular continuous attacks and counterattacks that create various combinations. Thanks to this, each battle will bring new impressions and will not get boring. All this is also complemented by a well-developed system of finishing moves, as well as a wide selection of different combat skills.
Storyline and side missions
Middle-earth Shadow of Mordor boasts a captivating storyline that stays interesting until the end. Besides, the game has a large variety of side missions. Three separate quest lines tell about the three heroes of Middle-earth and their weapons. Also, there are event tasks related to the release of the captives captured by the Uruks. A significant part of the side missions are confrontations with the Uruks. The player will have to enter into duels with captains, disrupt feasts and executions, liberate outposts and much more. There are also tests associated with the killing of a certain amount of living creatures and collecting plants. Not all tasks will be available immediately: to gain access to some of them, and the player will need to advance further in the story.
System of skills and weapon upgrades
During missions, the player will receive experience points that can be spent on learning new skills.
So, the player will learn how to saddle wild animals, instantly kill with attacks from above, increase the efficiency and possibilities of domination, etc.
During the game, the player will find various items of equipment and new types of weapons that differ in attributes and give additional effects when collecting their sets.
