New Frontier Gameplay
New Frontier is an MMORPG that previously was called Wild West Online, and it used to be a buy-to-play game, but it was closed and sold to Free Reign Entertainment to become a new free-to-play project. The setting is based on the infamous Wild West a few centuries back, and the realistic graphics along with various mechanics create a unique and immersive atmosphere of the old days.
The game welcomes players with an in-depth character creation system where you can choose a gender, unique facial features, body type, skin colour and other details. New Frontier has the tutorial quest chain which helps players to understand the basic mechanics and provide them with starting gear.
Survival sandbox open world allows you to perform many different activities to stay alive. You can mine resources, gather plants and grow food. You can also travel the wilderness to hunt for rare species of animals to acquire unique materials and sell them and earn in-game currency. Vainbank, unlike all the other locations, is a safe zone, and it is a typical wild west town that allows players to meet each other, repair equipment, group up and trade the acquired goods.
Building and crafting is a significant part of New Frontier. Players can travel and search for various blueprints to learn how to craft and modify equipment and weapons. They also need it to settle their homestead and upgrade it into an impenetrable fortress. The house is fully customizable with different objects and trophies, and players can expand walls and foundation as much as they want. You can even hunt for other players, raid their houses and steal their loot.
Magic thunderstorms create a unique environment where the worlds collapse and various creatures from different dimensions enter the wild west environment. Aliens, dinosaurs, giant mechanical creatures and many others wander the lands; they can be both hostile and friendly to players. You need to protect your homestead and friends from the invaders, and they also bring new types of loot with them.
New Frontier offers its players to form a Posse, which is pretty much a clan or a guild, and you can fight side by side with friends or create Alliances with other Posses, and take part in various public activities around the map. There are seasonal player-versus-player challenges, and it allows you to unlock unique gear and cosmetic items.
The in-game currency plays a significant role in most activities available to the players, and there are multiple ways how to acquire it. Players can work for the law and hunt for criminals, or become an outlaw themselves robbing and stealing valuables from others. Various mechanics allow you to earn money without interacting with other players, and you can mine gold or perform other activities to stock up valuable resources.
It would take too much time to explore the massive world of New Frontier without horses, and you have a wide selection of them to purchase. Horses have various outlooks and different attributes, and some can be much more expensive than others. It takes time to grind enough to buy a horse, but it is not the only expense players have in this project. You can purchase a wide variety of weapons and upgrade them, ammunition, potions and other accessories.
New Frontier offers a unique combination of the wild west and other universes, and it fits both hardcore and casual players. A wide range of activities allows everyone to get an opportunity to succeed in the game.
