Out of Reach is an MMO with elements of an open-world role-playing game about human survival in the wild.

Out of Reach Gameplay

Out of Reach catapults players into a high-stakes scenario immediately after a cataclysmic storm ruins your ship. You’re shipwrecked on an unknown island, surrounded by an environment that’s as harsh as it is beautiful. The choices you make during the initial moments could determine your chances of survival. Will you forage for what’s left of your ship’s supplies or immediately set out to hunt and scout the island? Each decision sets you on a different path, each fraught with its own risks and rewards.

Staying close to the beach after your shipwreck seems like a convenient choice. It offers you slower prey and an open view of your surroundings. But the glaring downside is that you’ll be an easy target for other players, cannibals, or predatory animals. This dilemma highlights the game’s focus on tactical decision-making and strategy.

One of the game’s standout features is the focus on battling the elements. Heat, cold, hunger, and thirst are constant issues, pushing you into a desperate search for resources. A dynamic crafting system lets you create tools, weapons, and shelters, moving you from merely surviving to thriving. As you progress, you get to upgrade your survival gadgets. Starting from simple axes and makeshift huts, you can work your way up to sophisticated weapons, catamarans, gliders, and even initiate clan wars or build enormous wooden skyscrapers.

Resource collection is the backbone of your survival strategy. Trees provide lumber, rocks offer stone, and different plants offer food and flax for crafting. As you evolve, you’ll delve into more advanced materials like copper and tin, allowing you to create bronze and other alloys, which opens up a new layer of gameplay and technological advancement.
