Project: Gorgon Gameplay

Project: Gorgon is an indie sandbox MMORPG, which is developed by a small team of former developers of the Asheron’s Call and EverQuest 2. It has immersive hardcore gameplay oriented on PvE activities and many features of retro video games. This game provides players with dozens of different skills and specializations of all kinds, from artisan abilities to knowledge of mythical languages of the playable races. With all these features, you can create unique characters with sophisticated gameplay styles, and find your path in the universe of the PG.

One of the core features of Project: Gorgon is an opportunity to shapeshift into mighty beasts, such as spiders or wolves. Depending on the species, your hero will obtain unique abilities, which are typical for the chosen animal. Their skills are divided into classic archetypes. The Cows are excellent tanks, Deers are fast and agile AoE fighters, Spiders are talented illusionists, Pigs are mighty fighters, Rabbits are Ice Magicians, Giant Bats are flying night hunters, and Wolfs are mighty werewolves.

Project: Gorgon encourages players to cooperate in various ways: it has a guild system, multiplayer competitions and social features. The main content of the game is mostly PvE-oriented, so you won’t have to fight for life with others. Instead of that, PGi provides a quite unbalanced but immersive system of duels and arenas, where you can involve in unlimited battles with random players. You can either enter the PvP dungeon or drink a specific PvP juice to participate in combat.

Even though character creation in Project Gorgon is quite limited, it still provides an opportunity to make a unique hero. There is an opportunity to choose gender, race and basic appearance features. The lore of the game is in-depth and exciting, but it has only four races as playable: the industrious humans, forest-loving peaceful Elves, fierce and brutal Rakshasa, and magical Fairies. Each of them has unique stories, specific stats and exclusive abilities.

The world of Project Gorgon is one of the most immersive and detailed ones among all modern indie RPGs. It’s mostly noticeable when you cooperate with NPCs: in this game, every non-playable character has their own goals, story and interests. Some of them can become your friends if you choose to cooperate with them; also, you can get their attention with presents.

The developers of the Project Gorgon are aspired to create old-school style MMORPG, inspired by retro fantasy projects; still, it provides an opportunity to choose the difficulty of the gameplay and customize the specific features. For example, PG has a full loot system, which increases the complexity of the gameplay dramatically. Since the game has dozens of complicated aspects, it offers an opportunity to complete tutorial quests and read tips to explore the mechanics.

Although Project: Gorgon is still under development, it’s very immersive and exciting to play. The game has an active and loyal community, exciting competitions, a fascinating plot and unique atmosphere. Creators of PG are mocking the cliches of classic RPGs; in this game, you can meet NPCs with a dark sense of humour, animals-skill mentors, explicit content and moreover.
