Steel Division 2 Gameplay

The events of Steel Division 2 revolves around the Operation Bagration, the Belorussian strategic offensive operation, aimed at the withdrawal of German troops from the territory of the Soviet Union.

In this game, you will need to take command of an entire army. At your own disposal will be more than 600 units of military force, such as troops, aircraft, tanks and other vehicles, and 25 maps that reproduce the real landscapes of the battlefields. All weapons and in-game tactics are reproduced with historical accuracy. All aspects are worked out to the smallest detail, right down to the zone of destruction of each firearm.

The game includes singleplayer and multiplayer modes. Singleplayer mode is a turn-based strategy. The one step in a single-player mode is the equivalent of half of a day. All battles take place in real time. Multiplayer mode allows players to fight as part of 10x10 teams.

You can choose the side of the conflict that you would like to play.
There is a choice between the Axis powers or the Red Army. Both sides are represented in the game equally well developed. You will have a vast selection among combat units when you start filling up your deck, regardless of which side you have chosen.

In this game, you will most often fight with the AI game. For you, the game will look like a battle map with the troops and vehicles indicated on it. You can add units to the battlefield using your deck, which must be fulled up before the start of the battle. At your disposal will be both war veterans who have already passed three years in actions and new rookies who have just arrived on the battlefield. You have to choose the tactics that will bring victory, and decide on the troops that will go into battle. All types of units have their nuances, which you will learn in the game, right in the actions of the campaign. Be a wise commander and take care of your troops, because your victory depends on them.

In addition to conventional troops, you can place one of your Commanders on the battlefield. It raises the strength and power of nearby soldiers.

You can install defences on the field to slow the advance of the enemy. You can stretch the barbed wire, dig trenches and gun pits, install bunkers for stationary guns. It will significantly support your troops on the battlefield.

Steel Division 2 has three game modes at the moment. You can choose one of them before the combat starts.

  • Conquest (Eastern Front) is a mode where you should capture the specific areas of the map. All players start at the opposite sides of the game map, and their goal is to deploy the regions that are situated near the medial border. To do this, you have to use different vehicles. It increases your troop movement speed.
  • Conquest (Closer Combat) is a different variation of Conquest where the players already have a third part of the map for both sides, and the battlefield between them is just 2000 meters wide. The purpose of this map is the same as the Eastern Front version: to capture the enemy's territory.
  • Breakthrough is an asymmetric mode, where one team of the players have a territory to protect, and the other team's goal is to conquer the opponent's area.
