Terraria Gameplay

You create a new world and appear in it; then you meet the guide. The guide gives you basic information. You will learn how to make an item and what you should do to move further in Terraria. Usually, in the beginning, the first thing you do is building a house from any improvised materials. Often it is wood or earth. The wood is the better choice because it is a renewable resource.

The next thing that you should do is to explore the territory. You can go right or left, or start digging deep into the planet. The first enemies that you meet will be slimes. It is a source of gel and random items. The gel is necessary for crafting torches. After that, you would start collecting stone to build a furnace to create ingots from ore that you found. Then you have to make the first tools, weapon, and armor. It can be done with an anvil. Having a weapon and armor will be helpful because very soon, you will have to defeat the first boss: "Eye of Cthulhu."

The more you explore the game, the more you will find various useful resources, dangerous enemies, new exotic biomes with diverse flora and fauna.

Terraria allows you to show the creativity and imagination of the designer in the construction of houses for a large number of NPCs. You can build an entire city for them if you want. The building is one of the most significant and exciting parts of the game: many players spend most of their time creating their base and decorating it.

The game has a lot of interior items: tables, chairs, doors, paintings, and so on. Furniture is not only decoration. For example, a bed allows you to change the respawn point; the piggy bank will work as a chest.
A player can craft some furniture; other ones will have to be searched. Without some specific pieces of furniture, NPC characters will not consider a house as their new home.

NPCs will come only if all the conditions for their appearance are met. Merchant will require silver coins to be in its house; to invite a nurse, you will have to increase the maximum amount of health for your personage. Take care of your NPCs because they often die during events.

Events are a significant part of the game; every few game days, some events happen - Goblin attacks, a bloody moon, slime rain, and many others. It's pretty funny, and activities can be summoned if you do not want to wait for it.

In addition to enemy creatures in the game, there are neutral creatures - birds, butterflies, rabbits, and others. However, many neutral animals can become enemies during the "bloody moon" event, and then even a cute rabbit will want to eat your hero. Original humor makes this game very fun. Also, in Terraria, some unique creatures live only in specific biomes.

There are many biomes in the game - they can be located underground, on the surface, and in the sky. As you play, you will find new biomes. In some of them, you can summon bosses. For example, "Queen of the Bees" - you can see this boss only in "Bee Hive" biome and nowhere else. However, you can summon the Queen of the Bees not only in the hive but also in the "Jungle" biome.

To defeat bosses, you have to improve your weapons and equipment. Sometimes you will find the necessary weapons and rare items after defeating the boss. A vast number of weapons and objects presented in the terraria will admire you! There is no doubt that you will want to try all kinds of weapons that the game offers. In addition to weapons for beating some bosses, you will need supplies such as potions and food.

The necessary resources for creating potions can be found or grown in your garden. You can obtain some rare ingredients while fishing, as well as that you can catch a treasure chest instead of fish.

To simplify the battle with the boss, you may build an arena. You can build it from any materials you have or make a unique arena of individual blocks, like asphalt, rails, ice, or platforms. Each block has its characteristics: asphalt gives you acceleration, on rails, you can ride with minecart, platforms allow you to jump through them.

One of the advantages of the game is the multiplayer mode. Since Terraria is a sandbox, the game will not end after defeating the final boss. After that, you can continue your game and do the same things as you did throughout the game.

Terraria Classes

Classes in Terraria exist only conditionally. You do not have to choose one and follow it the whole game. There are five classes in Terraria:

  • Warrior. The most protected class. Warrior uses melee weapons.
  • Archer. It is a range class. Archer uses range weapons like bows or guns.
  • Sorcerer. A class with almost no protection that uses magic weapons and mana.
  • Summoner. It is an unusual "pet class." This class also poorly protected.
  • Thrower. A class that uses throwing weapons.
