Total Lockdown - online client game in the genre of Battle Royal online shooter from the creators of Panzar online. In the world of the Total Lockdown, a brutal TV show is on the air every week, showing hundreds of criminals locked in a tall skyscraper, who are forced to fight each other. They have to search for weapons in the rooms on the floors and participate in the fights until the last survivor remains. The situation is exacerbated by numerous traps and gas placed in random levels of the building by the show organizers.
The player chooses a starting weapon (baseball bat and first-aid kit, or grandfather’s shotgun), and finds himself in a random place in a high-rise building. In the rooms, corridors and secret stores, there is hidden equipment, guns and consumable items of different quality. Criminals begin to look for these values from the first seconds, continually bumping into each other. Meeting with a stranger will certainly end in someone's death. The killed person loses all found things, which can be immediately picked up to replenish ammunition.
Somewhere in Total Lockdown, there is a key card that opens the door to the store filled with presents. When the lucky man gets into the shop, people from the neighboring floors hear the alarm, a mark of interest appears on their mini-cards, and the men eager for the legendary outfit rush there. The lucky one who has found the treasure will regret that luck has smiled upon him.
In addition to standard ammunition, players find technological devices that help them stay alive longer and slyly get rid of competitors. There is, for example, a folding shield, saving from bullets; motion sensor reporting the location of the enemy. Autonomous illusions distract attention, silent shoes let to come behind his back, and a light grenade confuses a group of opponents.
The music and the noise of the shots contribute to the immersion, and the quality of the presenter's comments varies from ridiculous jostles to useless chatter. Characters are drawn in a cartoon style. The decoration of the building works for the quirks of game design. Each room is lit with neon information displays, and the luminous lines on the floor tell you where to go to be safe.
Total Lockdown is a bold experiment from Russian guys who tried to grope for breakthrough mechanics in the emerging genre. They have something to invent and offer because their previous project still amazes with its quality and the scale of innovations.
