Wizard of Legend Gameplay
When you start a new game, Wizard of Legend meets you with the story of its magical world. During the first explorations, you receive your beginning skills, which can immediately be tried on dummies. In a few minutes, you will explore all controls, pass a small test and find yourself near an artefact that will illuminate the room with light and take you to an entirely new place.
Now your task is to complete the "Chaos Test", which selects the strongest wizards and gives them the title of legendary wizards. Each time the set of locations is generated randomly, but the structure of the test is always the same: you pass two large zones, find yourself at one of the bosses and repeat this process. The order of the locations is changing after each attempt, as well as the bosses. The first stages are always faster than the next, and the strength of your opponents depends on how close you are to the final.
The design of levels leaves is quite simple: they're randomly generated, which makes it impossible to predict what kind of enemies will attack you next. However, battles with the same "bosses" can get annoying at some point, especially when you already mastered all strategies of the game.
You'll have to spend several hours before you will learn how to pass the test. During the preparation, you have to find the right set of spells. The character has four magic tricks called arcana: a normal attack, a leap that lets you jump over a cliff and escape from flying projectiles, and two spells.
In Wizard of Legend, it's easy to get caught in a corner and become a helpless magician for a few seconds, who is beaten up by a crowd of aggressive enemies, keeping him from getting out. One unsuccessful hit will cause your character to receive dozens of strikes. It makes the combat system extremely hardcore and challenging.
Wizard of Legend has over a hundred spells here, and you can deeply customize the character's abilities. The skills are divided into several types, which you're free to combine at your choice. You can buy additional techniques in the city, where you appear after death. The traders require diamonds instead of gold, which can be harvested from defeated bosses.
Many arcane are equipped with timers; after activation, you can not use them again for a few seconds. Still, you can learn all tactics and strategies while practising on dummies.
In addition to magic, the protagonist can use robes and relics. The main character in Wizard of Legend only one, but you can change the different costumes.
A merchant can sell additional items and techniques; some tradesmen sell goods for gold. Some things apply not only positive effects but also cause an opposing reaction. You won't be able to find the information about the item before you buy it, which makes it even more hardcore.
