More about No Class MMO

While other MMOs are dividing characters into classes, each one with strictly prescribed gameplay and skills, the creators of No Class MMO refused of such a system, considering it annoying. That decision made it possible to create a game with a very flexible character development, which allows to bring to life any desire of a player.

In most No Class MMOs, your character's developmental vector is determined by the skills you choose to learn. It means that you could get a mighty warrior who knows how to use magic or a typical healer who can stand up for itself and its allies. In some of the No Class MMO, your character's class is determined by the clothes that it wears. For example, if you dress your hero in robes and give it a magic wand, then it will begin to understand magic spells. But the game does not forbid you to change your character's clothes at any time - and this is the feature of that concept.

Also, in a few No Class MMO games, your character's skills are not levelling up on your choice after you increased the level of your hero. The skills of your character may develop automatically - in those abilities that you use most often. If you like swinging your sword most of all, then this skill will grow most of all, but the rest of them will standstill. There is also a type of MMOs that don't need a division into classes in principle - there is no need in it.

Best No Class MMO Games

  • Mabinogi - The one character in this game can become any class, or even develop all of the skills. Development of such a jack-of-all-trades is pretty tough and exciting at the same time, but this game is more interesting if you concentrate on your most preferred skills.
  • Runescape - is a classic example of No Class MMO, where the skills of your hero depend on the equipment worn on it. Of course, Runescape is based on the traditional cornerstone of classes - the Warrior, the Mage and the Ranger, but no one will offer you to choose one of them. All division into classes in this game is variable.
  • EVE Online - It has no division into classes. This game does not need a class system: it has many other complex mechanics, for example, a system of studying skills, ship development and a substantial social component. The class system would not fit into the concept of the game at all.
