Developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, this continuation of the action-adventure stealth series invites players to restore the splendor of Rome and fight against the Templar’s grip over the city.

Gameplay and Storyline

The narrative of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood primarily unfolds in Rome, a city languishing under the Borgia papacy and the Templars’ control. The noble goal of liberating the Eternal City and investing in its renewal allows players to witness the city’s transformation, earn rewards, and unlock new missions. The players must conquer and destroy Borgia towers, thus liberating different areas of Rome from Templar influence.

Rome’s Districts and Combat

Rome, in all its dilapidated grandeur, is divided into four districts: Vaticano, Campagna, Trans-Tiber, Centro, and Antico. A series of tunnel networks enable quick travel across the city’s expanses, effectively keeping the player connected to the game’s various missions and events.

The combat system has seen an overhaul from its predecessors, offering dynamic and deadly encounters. In Brotherhood, enemies have an aggressive AI that fights back, requiring players to diversify their combat strategies. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood introduces the concept of execution streaks, letting players eliminate multiple enemies in swift succession. The protagonist, Ezio, can now dual-wield weapons, adding a new layer of depth to the combat system.

Multiplayer Mode

For the first time in the franchise, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood introduces a multiplayer mode. It offers eight diverse game modes and various maps, including some locales from previous games. Each game mode encourages players to utilize their assassination and stealth skills effectively. The multiplayer component also features a progression system that awards points for successful assassinations, effective defenses, and completion of objectives. As players progress, they can unlock a variety of characters.
